Parish Plan
The final Thornborough Parish Plan with completed Action Plan was approved at the Parish Council meeting on the 12th May.
A copy of the plan will be sent to all the partners listed in the action plan, so that they are made aware of the opinions and proposed actions of the residents in the parish. Copies will be sent to Tracey Aldworth from AVDC and Sarah Aldworth of Bucks Community Action in PDF version as well as a hard copy, so that they can upload it to their respective websites. It will probably also need to go to Milton Keynes Council because of our close proximity to them.
The Parish Council will try to gain wider support for the actions outlined in the document, by forming some smaller working groups to lead on each of the actions. Though some of the points will inevitably fall within the Parish Council remit, this is the ideal opportunity to broaden the involvement of the wider parish. Though it used to be the case that Parish Plans were perceived as a 'wishlist' from the village, which was then fired off to the relevant authorities who were expected to deliver on it, it is now widely accepted that volunteers from a village will lead on the proposed actions, and work with the relevant parties to get things done.
This document has been copied to those members of Thornborough who have requested a copy, and to the secretary of North Bucks Parish Planning Consortium.
A421 Developments
With the expansion of Milton Keynes and the development of the East-West corridor there are plans for the improvement of the A421 that is mostly likely to include dualling. This could be towards Thornborough, crossing the ridge and seriously inhibiting the rural life, as well as possible access restrictions at either Bridge Street or Lone Tree.
