Milton Keynes Expansion Plan 2031

The consensus is still that MK will not expand to reach us but that Thornborough will become affected by its encroachment in a number of ways.
One of these is the higher volume of traffic on the A421 and the potential for its own development to a dual carriageway.
In response it is felt that Thornborough should now embark on work to decide what its residents want the village to become and in what areas development should be concentrated.
A Parish Plan will not limit itself to the future housing needs of the village but also to the community requirements and should include such factors as education, amenity, infrastructure, recreational needs and how we will interact with our surroundings and neighbouring villages.
In the coming months TPC will formulate a work plan and enter into a consultation exercise to recruit your input that we hope will engage the village in the process of planning our future.
With a plan in place and in the knowledge that village residents support it, Thornborough will be better placed to argue its case and manage change as it occurs.
Please contact me (Tam Dougan 822292) or the Parish Clerk (Jo Bonney 814375) or email tpcadmin@thornboroughvillage.co.uk if you would like to contribute to the Parish Plan or have questions.
In the short term one positive action TPC will take is to lobby Bucks CC in a bid to get the A421 speed limit reviewed.
Recent fatalities highlight the madness that occurs on the stretch of road that borders Thornborough and puts all road users at risk.
