Village Pond Gets a Clean Up

The Parish Council has been battling on how best to clean the Pond. Adding a sluice gate would be prohibitively expensive and would not achieve reduction of silt as the outlet level is too high. Dredging would be equally expensive. As an interim measure a couple of volunteers braved the silt to remove the larger objects. Work was limited as we did not want to distirb the nests on the far side. Further work will take place after nesting has finished and the rains have cleared the surface silt. Any volunteers most welcome!
